Lorient La Base, home to its international offshore racing hub, is now the largest concentration of offshore racing boats in the world. Here, in Morbihan, some of the world’s most renowned sailors benefit from purpose-built facilities and a high-level industrial ecosystem bringing together all the expertise required to design racing boats and prepare skippers for competition.
The world’s leading teams have made Lorient their home port and training base, including Banque Populaire (Armel Le Cléac’h), Gitana (Franck Cammas and Charles Caudrelier), Sodebo (Thomas Coville), Initiatives-Cœur (Violette Dorange) and Charal (Jérémie Beyou).
Many other teams, including some of tomorrow’s leading skippers, are also based here: Malizia (Boris Herrmann), MACSF (Corentin Horeau), DMG MORI (Kojiro Shiraishi), TRR (Tomas Ruyant Racing) (Thomas Ruyant) and Café Joyeux (Nicolas Destais).
